Sol I. Lida

AGE: 90 • Manalapan

Sol I. Lida, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. He was 90. Born in Dzialoszyzce, Poland, and a Holocaust survivor, he immigrated to the United States in 1950, settled in the Bronx, NY, and then relocated to Monroe Township in 1979. He later moved to Manalapan. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was the owner of Mindel Cleaners, Manhattan NY, where he worked for many years. Mr. Lida was a congregant of Congregation Beit Shalom, Monroe Township. He was also a member of the Dzialyshitzer Benevolent Association in Brooklyn, NY.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rita Spater Lida in 2001. Surviving are his 2 daughters, Evie Bramson, and her husband, Peter, of Monroe Township, and Ann Arvedon, and her husband, Gary, of Manalapan; and 4 grandchildren, Ken (Elise), Heidi (Ryan), and Cara Bramson, and Jackie Arvedon; and 4 great-grandchildren, Ari, Sasha, Ruby and Yuri.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 11:45am, at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapel, Cranbury Road at Evergreen Boulevard, East Brunswick, followed by interment at Old Montefiore Cemetery, St. Albans, NY. For directions, please visit www.msmc.us. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish National Fund, 78 Randall Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY 11570.
