Susan Covington

AGE: 97 • Cranbury

Susan Szraga Covington, 97 of Cranbury died Friday May 1st at The Elms of Cranbury. Born in South Amboy, Mrs. Covington was raised in a large family with her loving parents and many siblings. She and her husband Charles moved to Washington State in 1961. She spent many years there, moving to the Jamesburg area and then Spotswood before moving to Cranbury 3 years ago. Mrs. Covington was a wonderful baker who was known for her pumpkin pie and fruit cake. She was an avid seamstress, enjoyed going to church and singing in the choir, loved bingo and going to Atlantic City. She was predeceased by her husband in 1962, her grandson Jesse Covington and her great granddaughter Nicole Gandy.

Surviving are her daughter Peggy (Ed) Gandy of Spotswood, her two sons Harold (Irene) Covington of Helmetta and Charles (Anne) Covington of Spanaway, WA, her two sisters Mary Vorhees of Florida and Helen Latkovich of Spotswood, her brother Joseph Szarga of South Amboy, ten grandchildren Charles (Nancy) Covington Jr., Maria (John) Cook, Harold Covington Jr., Tammy Aarseth, David Covington, Kevin (Rosalie) Covington, Susan (Thomas) Koscinski, Edward Gandy Jr., Timothy (Cathy) Gandy and Dawn Durski, eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg. A memorial service will be announced for a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Jamesburg Presbyterian Church, 175 Gatzmer Ave., Jamesburg. To send condolences to the family visit www.LesterMemorialHome.com.
