AGE: 77 • Edison
After a courageous and tough year-long battle with cancer, Dr. Thomas Edward Desmond, Jr. of Edison, NJ passed away quietly on June 3, 2016 with his wife, family and friends by his side.
He was born May 16, 1939 in Ellensburg, WA. He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict.
A longtime physician in the Department of Pathology at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ, he is survived by his wife, Aliene, of 49 years.
Calling hours will be on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave (Rt.27) Metuchen, NJ.
Memorial donations may be made to MSKCC, Dept of Head and Neck (giving.mskcc.org).

Aliene, I was saddened to hear of Tom's passing last month.
I have so many fond memories of our pre and early
marriage years together. My kids loved "Aunt Aliene
and Uncle Tom". My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Tom was a great fraternity brother at the University of Washington. His parents owned a bakery in Yakima, Wa. and they baked our wedding cake and gave it to us as a gift. They even transported it to our wedding in Moses Lake in June 1962.

Tom was a special cousin. We had great times at Lourdes Academy. Tom was on our basketball team when Lourdes Academy came in 2nd at the state parochial school tournament in 1952 in Spokane.R.I.P. Tom.
