Tinton Falls - Thomas Paparsenos, Tinton Falls NJ, died on July 25, 2021 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank NJ after a sudden, brief illness. He died peacefully with his family by his side. Tom was born January 26, 1940, in a small farming village in Thessaly Greece to Achilleas and Vasiliki Paparsenos. He had six siblings. He had many stories of adventure and mischief growing up before he served in the Royal Greek Navy. After his military service Tom dreamed of making a life for himself in the US. He left his family and joined the merchant marine, which was the only way for him to work his way here. After travelling the world, he made it to the US with just the clothes on his back, and he immediately worked hard and established himself in the construction business. His life's passion was hard work, which he applied to his eventual occupation in industrial roofing. He was known for his incredible strength, skill, and bravery on the roof; and he truly achieved the American dream when he established his own roofing company. All his life Tom never stopped working hard and helping others, even until his very last days of life at age 81. Tom's immense personality left its mark on all who knew him. He was an energetic, funny, and passionate man who was beloved by his many friends. He was extremely proud of his two children, who grew up to be a school principal and a physician. He loved his four grandchildren more than anything. Tom is survived by Beatrice, his wife of 55 years; his children Regina and Achilles; his daughter-in-law Jennifer; his grandchildren Christina, George, Iris, and Eva; and his five remaining siblings in Greece. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
