Virginia Hutson Obituary
AGE: 89 • Hillsborough
Virginia R. Hutson, 89, passed away at her home on January 2, 2017. She was born and raised in Irvington NJ and lived in Iselin for 29 years before moving to Hillsborough in 1988. Virginia worked for Prudential Insurance Company in the personal and the accounting departments for the Newark and Los Angeles, California Offices. She also worked for J.C. Penny in Menlo Park for 15 years before retiring in 1989 from the Wood bridge Board of Education as an adult enrichment instructor.
Overall, Virginia was an active member in many community organizations, such as, the Hillsborough Cultural and Arts Committee, the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission, the Hillsborough Credit Card Commission, the Advisory Board of the Sail Program at the form Somerset Medical Center, the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW post 8371, Hillsborough. She was also an active charter member and former president of Chapter B - Hillsborough Senior Citizens and volunteered for the Somerset Valley Playhouse and Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Virginia was also former President of the Rosary Altar Society at the Mary Mother of God Church and was a member of the Worship Committee and taught CCD there for many years.
She is predeceased by her parents, Otto and Elizabeth Schmieder, and her husband, Charles. Virginia is survived by her 3 Sons, John and his wife Patricia of Edison, Donald and his wife Linda of Hazlet, Kevin and his wife Jo Ann of Edison, and her grandchildren, Timothy, Ashley, Brittany, Dana, and Kevin Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 6 at 10:30am in the Mary Mother of God Church, 157 S. Triangle Rd., Hillsborough, NJ 08844. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ. Visiting for relatives and friends will be held from 5 - 8pm on Thursday, January 5, at the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US HWY 206, and Hillsborough, NJ 08844.
