Walter S. Horzempa

AGE: 94 • Monroe Twp.

Mr. Walter S. Horzempa died on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Gardens at Monroe, Monroe Twp. He was 94 years old. Mr. Horzempa was born and raised in New York City. He lived in Jamesburg for 50 years before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. in 1999. He recently resided in West Windsor prior to returning to Monroe Twp. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a maintenance mechanic for Kentile Floors in South Plainfield for 45 years before his retirement in 1984.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sophie (Eglentowicz) Horzempa in 2004. He is survived by his son, Walter J. Horzempa, Sr. and his wife Donna of Jamesburg; his daughter, Marianne Sluke and her husband Jack of Chandler, AZ; his brother, Frank Horzempa of Rye, NY; three grandchildren, Kelly Ann Dougherty, Walter J. Horzempa, Jr. and his wife Denise, and Dominic J. Horzempa; one great granddaughter, Alexandra Horzempa, and many other extended family members.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Monday, April 8, 2013 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am at Holy Trinity RC Church, Helmetta followed by Interment in the parish cemetery, Monroe Twp. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
