WILLIAMSON JR.
AGE: 64
BORN IN PERTH AMBOY
William Ralph Williamson Jr., 64, of Hardy, Va., died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 11, 1945 in Perth Amboy, he was a son of the late William Ralph Williamson Sr. and Granat Williamson. Bill loved to spend time with his friends, family and grandchildren. For the past seven years, Bill loved boating and spending time on Smith Mountain Lake. He was an electrician with IBEW Local Union #456 for 40 years and a member of the Howell Elks Lodge #25195 for 38 years.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Ann Williamson; three children, William R. Williamson III and his wife Alli of Newtown, Pa., Kristen Rimek and her husband Gunther of Howell, and Karen Behrmann and her husband Brian of Buffalo, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Jake and Tanner Williamson, Ryan and Meghan Rimek, and Ana Behrmann; and one sister, Joy Williamson of Perth Amboy.
Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30 at Resurrection Catholic Church, with Chris Barrett officiating. Memorial services in New Jersey will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4 at St. William the Abbot, at Lakewood Allenwood Road, Howell. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Smith Mountain Lake, Hardy, Va. Dear Annie, So sorry to hear of your loss. Billy was a good union brother and friend. Had fun working with him over the years. So sorry to have had little lake time with him but enjoyed the times that we did have. Our sympathy and prayers are with you and your family. Call us when you get back to the lake.
