I was a 15 yr old child and signed up for a vietnam pen pal in school for history class . I was assigned Bill. I would send him sticks of gum in my letters. He sent polaroids of him in the jungle with his automatic rifle. For many years saved all his letters. Have since misplaced in my old age. Just looked him up and found obituary. Looks like he lived an awesome life. He always gave me good advice. We exchanged mail for over a year. I never forgot him. Peace and Love to you Bill. Ada

Just today I discovered Bill´s passing, and it leaves me very sad. My condolences to the whole family. Bill and I served together in Vietnam, in 2/1 196th Light Infantry Brigade. Bill was always upbeat and as I was from Pittsburgh, we called each other PA cousins". Bill was an excellent soldier, a close friend, and loved being in the Army, we kept each other alive more than a few times. I will pray for his soul .
