As a student at USMA in 1975, I was fortunate to have then Col. Capps as my instructor for one of my English classes. At the time it was rare to have a Colonel teaching cadets, but I took the class and thoroughly enjoyed it. Col Capps ability to capture the imagination of the class and present the material in a way that connected with me and all the other students was something I enjoyed immensely. As I struggled through the rest of my classes, I always looked forward to attending his literature class. My classmates all felt the same way. Please accept my condolences on his passing.

Jack was a resident of Lakeview longer than I had been working there and I have had fond memories of chatting with him during our dining services. He was an amazing man full of life and wisdom.

I met General Jack Capps 10 years ago when I drove a cab with 1010 Transportation Service. Jack became one of my regular customers quickly. Each trip was like driving with a friend. Jack always shared exceptional and remarkable stories of his life and travels. As intelligent as he was he also was very comical and witty. He was always dressed to the nines. Thank You, Jack for your friendship and the memories. Your Friend, Louie Garcia
