POMEROY, Ohio — James Rolland Reeves, 78, of Pomeroy, Ohio, passed away June 21, 2022, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born June 21, 1944, in Meigs County, Ohio, a son of the late Henry and Francis (McKee) Reeves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Collins and one son, John Reeves.
James was a United States Air Force Veteran and served during the Vietnam Era. He retired as a Coal Miner from Meigs Mine #31, with over 40 years of service. James loved being outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and was an electrician by trade.
Survivors include his children, Steve Reeves and his wife, Melodie of New Haven, Wes Reeves of West Virginia; sister, Joan Oiler of Mount Alto; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a special friend, Martha Reeves.
There will be no public services at this time.

I'm thankful that we had you as a grandpa in life. I'm also thankful to have such a great man serve for our country. I appreciate your services and all that you have done.You taught and helped raise us kids with grandma as we grew older. You will be missed. Rest easy and fly high grandpa!
