MIDDLEPORT — James Whitlatch, 83 of Middleport, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Overbrook Nursing Home in Middleport.
He was born Sept. 9, 1931, to the late Lawrence and Opal (McDaniel) Whitlatch. Mr. Whitlatch was a member of Middleport Church of Christ and he retired from the Kyger Creek Plant.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Whitlatch; son Max and Deborah Whitlatch, of Middleport; son Terry Whitlatch, of Hartford, W.Va.; stepson Jim Stitt; sister Mildred Hudson, of Pomeroy; sister Juanita and Herald Schreiher, of Grove City, Ohio; half-sister Delsey Henderson, of Pleasantville, Ohio; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Wright; granddaughter Tammy Wright; stepson George Stitt; two brothers, Harlan and Harvey Whitlatch; sister Imagene Ruff; and brother-in-law Bill Hudson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport with Pastor James Acree officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at the funeral home.

So sorry for your lost. I went to school with Max, his son. Hope you find comfort at a time like this. I still have my Dad but he has been sick lately. Don't know what I would do with out him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Max and the family.
