Sue Corbin Obituary

KINGSTON — Sue Ann Corbin, 78, of Kingston, died Tuesday following a long struggle with dementia.

The daughter of Leo and Edna Corbin, Sue was born in Warrenton, Virginia, but later moved to Hooper, Nebraska, where she spent the remainder of her childhood.

She graduated from Hooper High School and was valedictorian of her class. She later attended the University of Nebraska and was a diehard Cornhuskers fan. Sue spent her career working in credit and finance at numerous banks and businesses, with a brief sojourn as a hardware store owner. She retired from Pride Mobility after 20 years as Credit Line Manager, overseeing million-dollar UCC accounts.

She lived in a wide variety of places including Nebraska, Virginia, California, Missouri and Pennsylvania.

Always concerned with the state of our world, Sue followed politics closely and enjoyed spirited discussions. In her younger years, she spent many hours volunteering on political campaigns. Sue was a lover of music and enjoyed attending concerts and live performances. Not one to stay in her seat, she was usually up on her feet dancing and singing along.

She had a generous heart and was a lover of animals. She always had cat companions who were adopted through shelters or even found roaming at the post office. She would be honored by donations to a local animal shelter/rescue organization, or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Survivors include the love of her life and companion, G Kenneth Skibinski, three children of whom she was immensely proud, Melissa Burrier MacNamara (Mike), Keith L Clark (Carla) and Adam K Skibinski (Kayla), a dearly loved sister Beth C Kurcab (Steve), 11 grandchildren whom she adored, and her "Good Good Girl" kitty Samantha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Edna (Speilman) Corbin.
