Blanche Scott Obituary

Blanche Editha Scott, 91 of Worton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. A strong, hardworking woman, and the heart of her family, Blanche devoted her life to faith, family, and community.

She loved her family deeply and found joy in simple pleasures: flowers, food, friendship, and her faith. Blanche's hobbies reflected her generous and creative spirit: baking, reading, crafting for church bazaars, and spending time with loved ones. In her earliest years, she especially enjoyed camping trips with her family and her annual visits to Florida to see relatives.

Blanche proudly served with the United States Postal Service for 39 years, spending nearly three-quarters of that time as Postmaster. She was deeply dedicated to her work, loved her customers, and took great pride in the value of working hard.

A devoted member of Lynch United Methodist Church until it's closure, Blanche later joined Still Pond Methodist Church, where she remained an active member for over 38 years. She chaired countless church dinners and bazaars, served as treasurer for a time, and contributed wherever she was needed.

Blanche loved cheering on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their various sports and activities-always keeping score and offering encouragement. She was also a loyal fan of the Baltimore Orioles.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Norman Scott, Sr. in 1989; her son Norman D. Scott, Jr. this past August; and her parents Lulu Ida Greenwood and Merritt Minner Meekins. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Harvey (Ann), Rebecca (Arthur), George (Ann) and Anna (Earl). She is survived by her sister Edith (George, deceased).

Blanche is lovingly survived by her children Alan Scott (Muffy) and Holly Scott Langenfelder (Bill); her daughter-in-law Donna Scott; her grandchildren, Jason (Brandi), Lacey (Mitch), Ethan, Alexis and Kendall; and her great-grandchildren, Savannah, Barron, Callan, Maddox, Declan, Emersyn, and Wren.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Still Pond Methodist Church in Blanche's memory.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
