David Bland Obituary

David Thomas Bland, Sr. 81 of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on Monday October 6, 2025, at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA surrounded by his family.

Dave was born on February 16, 1944, in Chestertown, MD where he grew up and went to Chestertown High School. Son of the late Vernon Bland and Emily Redding Bland Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son David, Jr. and brother Eddie.

David went into the Navy and while stationed in Ireland met his wife of 60 years Margaret Boyle Bland. After retiring from the Navy, he worked and retired after 20 years from Social Security.

He had lots of hobbies too many to name them all but his favorites were golf, fishing and in his early years building and flying model planes.

David is survived by his children, Billy and his wife Terry, Aaron (Catherine) and Colin; grandchildren, Chelsa (Matt), Ben (Matty), David and Sarah; great-grandchild Fox; sister Martha Bland Stubbs and many nephews.

At Dave's request no services will be held.
