David Lauser Obituary

David T. Lauser, 80 of Galena, MD passed away at home on December 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

David was born on March 4, 1943, son of the late John J. and Margaret V. Baker Lauser and was raised in Linwood, PA. He later moved to Newark, DE where he raised his two sons. He is a 1961 graduate of Archmere Academy and received an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Delaware Technical Community College in 1976.

David was a lifetime member of the Iron Workers Local 451 where he worked for over 30 years. He was a lifelong sailor and passed his love of being on the water to his sons. He and his wife built their own sailboat and cruised to the Bahama's for 12 years along with many other destinations. They also shared a love of camping and hiking, visiting most of the United States and Canada.

Along with his parents he was preceded by two brothers, Jack and Don.

David is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen Weller Lauser, sons David T. Lauser, Jr. (Deb) and Richard C. Lauser (Ginger) all of Galena. Two brothers, Ed Lauser of Chester, PA and Larry Lauser of California; a sister, Peg Sommers of Chestertown, MD and two grandsons, Brandon and Nicholas Lauser.

A long-time member of the Columbia Sailing Association, a Sail-A-Bration of life will be held at a later date.
