Don Schauber Obituary

Don Thomas Schauber

June 25, 1952 - September 17, 2025

Chestertown, MD

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don Thomas Schauber, 73, at his home in Chestertown, MD, surrounded by his family. Born on June 25, 1952, in Maryland to Margaret and Thomas Schauber. He married Debbie at a young age and they have been together 53 years.

Don was a skilled mason, known throughout the community for his exceptional craftsmanship. He was highly sought after for his work, and his reputation as a master of his trade was well earned.

Outside of work, Don was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, and spending time on the water. One of his greatest joys was driving around in his truck and sharing time with his grandkids, especially helping them with their deer.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Schauber of Chestertown, MD; his sister, Ellen Ruebeck of Millington, MD; his three children, Angel Hunter of Chestertown, MD; Donna Grubb (husband Gene Grubb) of Viola, DE; and Wade Schauber (wife Roianne Schauber) of Crumpton, MD; and his ten grandchildren, Kristen Minnick, Hannah Burkhardt (husband Robert Burkhardt), Luke Schauber, Aliyah Jones, Shiley Schauber, Cassie Jones, Roy Schauber, Asher Grubb, Jase Mercer, and Chasin Grubb. He is also survived by his three great-grandchildren, Noah Geibel, Emerson Francis (Bunky), and Baylor Noell.

He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Thomas Schauber, and his brother, Dennis Schauber.

A celebration of Don's life will be held at a later date. Don will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
