Dorothy Winant Obituary

Dorothy A. Winant, 86 of Newark, DE passed away on May 2, 2022.

Mrs. Winant was born on February 24, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Edwin Richard and Hilda Dorothy Trinks. She was raised in Worton and moved to Elkton working as a waitress, putting herself thru beauty school. She moved to Newark and began her 50 year career as a beautician in Wilmington, retiring in 2020. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Along with her parents she was preceded by her husband of 49 years, Theodore Winant in 2015; a sister Frances Trinks; brother Edwin 'Eddie' Trinks and a nephew Tyrone Brown.

She is survived by her brothers, Allen Trinks of Dover, DE, William F. Trinks of Chestertown and Marvin Trinks of Worton; a sister Linda Leonard of Clayton, DE and nephews Phil Trinks and William Trinks, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 20 from 11:30 - 12:30 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will begin at 12:30. Burial will follow at 2 pm in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Bear, DE.
