Norman Scott Obituary

Norman Dudley Scott, Jr. of Chestertown, MD passed away August 5, 2025. He was 69.

He was born in Chestertown, MD on October 2, 1955, the son of the late Norman Dudley Scott, Sr. and Blanche (Meekins) Scott of Worton, MD.

Norman was a 1973 graduate of Kent County High School and earned a degree in Business Management from Chesapeake College. On May 6, 1978, he married his high school sweetheart and self-proclaimed "Rock", Donna Ireland.

Norman began his career with Joe the Motorist's before embarking on his lifelong career in the life insurance industry. He began with People's Life Insurance Company, while also working on the family farm with his Father and Brother, and later worked with American General Life Insurance and most recently with Transamerica.

His lifetime awards are numerous, and he was always honored to have earned them for his team as well. Some of his lifelong friendships were generated through his association with customers and colleagues, along with sports teammates, co-coaches and church family.

In his free time Norman enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, golf, softball, and waterfowl hunting. He was a devoted member of Chestertown Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Usher, Greeter, and on the school board with Chestertown Christian Academy.

Norman's life verse is Psalm 100:1-2 "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by a son: Jason Scott (Brandi) of Clarksville, VA, a daughter: Lacey Scott (Mitch Vannoy) of Galena, MD, a sister: Holly Scott Langefelder (Bill) of Worton, MD, a brother: Alan Scott

(Muffy) of Centreville, MD, along with grandchildren: Savannah, Barron, Callan, Maddox, Declan, Emersyn, and Wren.
