Dolores Timms Obituary
Dorothy Dolores Timms went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Compass Hospice in Centreville, Md. She was born on August 26, 1937 in Queenstown, Maryland to Charles "Chalk" Anthony and Katherine Dadds Anthony.
She attended Queenstown Elementary, Centreville Grammar and Centreville High Schools. She graduated with the Class of 1955.
On September 17th, 1955 she married Robert M. Timms of Chester, Maryland and they lived on Kent Island the rest of their lives.
She worked at the original Fisherman's Inn, Circle, Ebb Tide and Annie's Restaurants over the years. She also served as a Substitute Teacher for many years and finally worked for the Anne Arundel County Health Department and retired in 1992.
She was a member of the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary from 1968 until her death. Dolores served in many capacities with the Auxiliary including as their President.
She had the heart of a servant and over the years of her life she was known for her cooking and baking skills. Her compassion for all of God's children was well known. If you had a need, she would sacrifice all she had to help you.
She spent many years as a Sunday School Teacher at Kent Island Methodist Church where she was a member since its establishment. As she approached her impending death she consistently said the same thing; "I am just waiting on my Lord Jesus to take me home." Her faith has been and will continue to be an example to us all. There are many people who can tell you about Jesus Christ. Dolores would actually show you Jesus by her life and her witness.

Special extended families of David and Laura Karwacki of Darien, Georgia, Buddy and Colleen Thomas of Stevensville, MD, John and Jeannie Duty of Centreville, MD, AND, too many nieces, nephews, adopted sons and daughters to list. But she loved all of them the same!

The family is asking for you to bring your favorite dish and memory of Dolores to the KIVFD. We feel that this would honor her legacy of "love through food" that she was so well remembered for.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Compass Hospice in Centreville, Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department, or Kent Island Methodist Church Loaves and Fishes Ministry.
Special thanks to the Staff of Compass for caring for mom in her worst days and holding her hand until Jesus took it from you. To the people of God for their prayers, visits and support throughout her summer of trial. To our Lord Jesus who never left our side!
