Edward Kipp Obituary

On Saturday, August 13, 2022 at approximately 6 pm, Edward Leroy Kipp passed away peacefully from this physical life on earth at the Quail Park Enhanced Assisted Living Center in Visalia, CA.

Edward Leroy Kipp was married to the love of his life, Sarah F. Kipp, for 67 years until her passing on December 12, 2014. They lived together for 33 years in their home at 1613 Seward Rd, Marling Farms, Kent Island Maryland, before moving to Visalia.

Edward Leroy Kipp was a decorated World War II veteran in the United States Army.

Edward Leroy Kipp-- or better known as "Sonny" by his friends and family-- was born August 5, 1923 in Baltimore, MD. He grew up in Baltimore and spent his summer months on the Magothy River, near Magothy Beach, Maryland. He moved to Severna Park in 1959 with Sarah and their two children-- Roger and Marshall. He began work at WMAR Channel 2 in Baltimore. Soon after, he took a job with the United States Information Agency where he worked in a television studio at 12 Pennsylvania Ave, in Washington DC till 1983 when he retired. Retirement was short. In 1983, he started Captain Ed Kipp's Fishing Charter Service, which he ran until 1993, and from 1993 to 2022 he built many boats, commissions and model boats. Throughout his life, Edward treasured his family, and enjoyed boating, fishing, music, his iPhone (which he was very adept at using!), social events, reading, and an occasional Jack and Coke, and always a good joke! He was a Freemason Masonic Lodge member and a devout Christian.

Edward is predeceased by his father Wilford Edward Kipp, mother Adella Pryor Kipp, and his grandparents. He is survived by his brother Ronald P. Kipp, his sons Roger W. Kipp and wife Pam, Edward Marshall Kipp and his wife Zulay, his nieces Rene Woodlief and Debbie J Ackiss, his grandchildren Scott Kipp (Candi), Andrew Kipp (Laura), Kevin Kipp (Jenifer), Dennis Kipp (Amy), Chap Kipp (Amanda), Cassidy Kipp, Kim Bordere (David), and Rommel Verenzuela (Bonnie).
