James Austin Obituary

James Franklin "Frank" Austin, Sr, age 80, of Camden Wyoming, DE (formerly of Grasonville, MD), passed away peacefully at home on the morning of March 15, 2025 surrounded by family. He was born on July 18, 1944, in Chester, MD to James G. and Drucilla Austin.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joyce Tygesson; his daughter Diana LaFollette (Kirby); granddaughter Jessica Collins; great-grandchildren Mason and Kayleigh Rawley; daughter-in-law Brenda Boyle Vujanic; and "grandchildren" Victor and Sarah Vujanic. He is also survived by his siblings Delores Terris and James G. "Junior" Austin, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his son James "Frankie" Austin, Jr., and his brothers William, Tommy, and David and his sisters Elizabeth Smith, Barbara Blunt & Jean Reese.

Frank was a lifelong mechanic, known for his long-term business on Main Street in Grasonville, Frank's Service Center. He worked alongside his wife, Joyce, and son, Frankie, for many years. He cherished spending time with family and friends, exploring Amish country, visiting casinos, and watching his family grow. Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 12 pm at the Lakeview Church of God in Grasonville, MD. There will be food and fellowship afterwards in the church hall with attendees sharing covered dishes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help cover expenses incurred during Frank's illness. Donations can be sent to the Austin's home address.
