Patricia Wood Obituary

Patricia Kay Wood of Centreville, MD passed away on September 22, 2025. She was 89 years old.

Patricia was born in Cambridge, MD on October 21, 1935. She attended Cambridge High School. She went to University of Maryland in College Park for an Education major. Her first job as a teacher was at Sudlersville School, then transferred to Queen Anne High School as a Home Economics until she retired in 1997.

Patricia was known for her passion for quilting. She had made tons of quilts. She is survived by her son, Gregory (Joyce) Wood of Odenton, MD and her grandsons, Calvin Wood and Derek Wood and many nephews and nieces. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence L. "Tink" Wood, her parents Clifford and Helen Havlick Mowbray, her brothers, Benjamin and John (Joan) Mowbray.

The service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Chesterfield Cemetery, 406 South Liberty Street Centreville, MD 21617.

After the service, the reception will be held at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 408 South Liberty Street Centreville, MD 21617.
