Angelo Criscione, 79, of 41T Douglas Heights Drive, Canastota, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Oneida Healthcare Center, following a brief illness due to heart disease. He was born on July 6, 1930, in San Ciperello, Sicily, the son of Vincenzo and Francesca Ruggero Criscione. Surviving besides his wife, the former Josephine Mazzola, are two daughters and a son-in-law, Francesca and Frederick Bogdon of Galway, NY, and Alice DiVeronica of Canastota; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Stella Criscione of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Vincenzo Nino and Maria Criscione of Palermo, Sicily; four grandchildren, Dante Bogdon, Julia DiVeronica, Dylan Bogdon and Jack DiVeronica; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at St. Agathas Church, Canastota, where a funeral mass will be held. The Rev. Kevin J. Corcoran, Pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in the Assumption Mausoleum at St. Agathas Cemetery, Canastota. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. In his memory, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
