Barbara Cawthon Obituary

Barbara J. Cawthon, 81, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at Passavant Area Hospital.

She was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Leonard and Margaret (Patterson) Smith. She married Robert D. Warren and he preceded her in death in 1972.

She is survived by two daughters, Lori (Gerald) Beck of Jacksonville and Julie (Mike) Alexander of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jeremy Beck of Jacksonville, and Lauren Alexander and Jacob Alexander, both of Nashville, Tennessee; and one brother, Bruce (Rose) Smith of Chapin.

Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She retired from Bound to Stay Bound Books after many years of service. She was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Jacksonville East Cemetery. The family will meet friends 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
