Bill Kinzer Obituary

Dr. Bill Kinzer
Springfield - "Dr. Bill Kinzer, former principal of Jefferson Elementary School from 1988 to 1994, passed from this life on January 11th. He provided leadership that took the school from all grades performing below grade level to five of the six grades performing above grade level. Jefferson was one of six schools in Illinois to receive the "Building Better Schools" award among other awards and honors during his tenure.
He also owned Kinzer's Sportscards Shop with son Jon. He was a member of the Jacksonville Community Chorus, the Jacksonville Church of Christ, and thoroughly enjoyed the local festivals and activities. The years in Jacksonville were some of his most enjoyable.
The family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 11:00 January 20th at Hope Church, 3000 Lenhart Rd, Springfield, with service to follow at 11:00."

It is sad to see the passing of a kind soul. Working with him was a pleasure, and I hope his family and friends have the love and support they need during this time of mourning. Farewell.
