Franklin - Chelsie Marie Sonneborn, 32, of Franklin, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. She was born December 10, 1991, in Jacksonville.
She was the beloved daughter of John Sonneborn (Tara Killebrew), Tonya Kirk (Doug Kirk), and Gayle Shireman (Mitch Shireman), and they all survive.
Chelsie is also survived by Jon Matthew Thatcher, the love of her life; two brothers, Dalton Sonneborn (Katie Sonneborn) and Brayden Sonneborn; Samantha Kitselman (Cody Kitselman), who has always been considered a sister to Chelsie and a loving family member to the Sonneborns'; bonus brothers and sisters of Jacksonville, Devin Killebrew, Jerelyn Rose, Carson Killebrew, and Aurora Killebrew; and two aunts and one uncle, Deb Armstrong, Mary Davenport (Terry Davenport), and Kevin Kinser (Misty Hauter). She is loved by four nieces and nephews, several cousins, and maternal grandparents.
Chelsie graduated from Jacksonville High School in 2010. She worked for America Ambulance for seven years as an EMT, working towards becoming a paramedic. She also worked for the Murrayville Fire Department for two years, as well as volunteering for the Murrayville Woodson Ambulance Service for a few years. She absolutely loved being a first responder and helping others.
Chelsie was an avid animal lover, as she was a dog mom to Lady, Ava, and Oakley. She loved hanging out with family and friends. She also loved Harry Potter, nerf wars, and children.
A funeral service will be held 12 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with a burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Greenfield. The family will meet friends from 9 AM until the time of service. Memorial gifts are suggested to Chelsie's father, John Sonneborn, to be donated and distributed to a charity the family will decide at a later date.
