Chet Alexander Obituary

BLUFFS — Chet A. Alexander, 53, of Bluffs passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born, October 8, 1963, in Jacksonville, the son of the late Carl Benjamin and Dorothy "Dottie" Ervin Alexander.

Chet is survived by a son, Carl (Ashley) Alexander of Jacksonville; his companion, Linda Celcer of Bluffs; a stepson, Justin Clayton of Bluffs; three stepdaughters, Amanda (Andrew) Celcer of Florence, Dawn Clayton of Quincy and Becca Clayton of Bluffs; seven grandchildren, Alyssa Alexander, Kylie Alexander, Jason Schwalb, Alexis Clark, Carl Alexander Jr., Izabella Alexander and Ayden Allen; a brother, Mark (companion, Donna) Alexander of Springfield; and a sister, Carla Pinkley of Springfield, Missouri. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kent Eyre.

Chet enjoyed working on building projects, being outdoors, collecting eagles and watching westerns. More than anything he loved spending time with his friends and family.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will meet friends from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
