David Ford Obituary

ROODHOUSE - David Paul Ford, 60, of Roodhouse, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born Feb. 28, 1956, in Jacksonville, the son of David F. and Lucille Maurine Barnes Ford.

Paul is survived by his mother, Maurine Ford of Virden and formerly of White Hall; a stepdaughter Vicky McGee of Jacksonville; four step-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary S. (Dale) Elenberger of Chatham, and Mildred L. (Charles) Cody of Virden; a niece, Annitta Emme; two nephews, David Matrisch, and Peter Cody; and two great-nieces, Alexis Emme and Victoria Matrisch. He was preceded in death by his father, David F. Ford; a son in infancy; a cousin, Ronnie Ford; and his companion, Cathy Barbour.

Paul worked as a mechanic at several places in Alton, and later at Keith's Auto Repair in White Hall. He loved his cats and enjoyed going to auctions around the area. He had attended the House of Restoration Church in Roodhouse.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial in Pine Tree Cemetery at Patterson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Pine Tree Cemetery, or the American Liver Foundation. Condolences may be left on-line at airsman-hires.com.
