Dixie L. Little
Jacksonville - Dixie L. Little, 86, of Jacksonville, IL, died Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
She was born July 21, 1937, in Peoria, the daughter of Virgil Clinton and Mabel Frances (Cumby) Little.
She is survived by two nephews, Jeff (Kari) Little of Kewanee and Brad (Wendy) Little of Lake Oswego, OR; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gary C. Little (surviving wife, Janet of Canton); and one nephew, Todd Little.
Dixie was a 1955 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She worked as a manager of policy services for Central National Life Insurance Company in Jacksonville, which later became John Deere Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed volunteering at Passavant Area Hospital and was a member of the Sunshine Singers with her friends from the Senior Center, singing in nursing homes.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 19, 2024, at Winchester City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to P.A.W.S. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
