Gail Sherack Obituary

Gail Hope (Murphy) Sherack, 62, of Jacksonville, took her final breath on Aug. 18, 2017, at Heritage Home Health Care and Hospice in Springfield.

Gail was born July 25, 1955, in Jacksonville, the fifth of seven children born to James and Josephine Murphy. She grew up in Bluffs and graduated from Bluffs High School in 1974. She met and married Duane Sherack of LaSalle a few years later. Gail worked for Elm City and volunteered with her friend, Sandy Brockhouse, doing the Clothing Give-away on East Douglas Avenue for many years.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Stephen and Larry Murphy.

She is survived by her husband, Duane; daughters, Crystal and Stephanie; brothers, Gene and Kenneth; sisters, Carol Garman and Patty Rice; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
