Lance Allen Stone
Versailles - Lance Allen Stone, 21, of Versailles, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, in Mt. Sterling, IL.
He was born Sept. 21, 2000, in Springfield, the son of David and Shelley (Battefeld) Stone.
He is survived by his parents, David and Shelley Stone of Versailles; his brother, Ross Stone; his grandparents, James and Sarah Jackson of Versailles; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Archie Lee Battefeld, and his grandfather, Danny Allen Stone.
Lance was a stocker for Walmart in Pittsfield for three years, where he took pride in being the fastest stocker. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 2019. In his spare time, Lance enjoyed watching his Philadelphia Eagles, visiting the family farm, discussing politics, collecting guns, playing video games, and spending time with his dog, Sookie.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia. The family will meet friends from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm prior to the service. Condolences may be sent online at buchanancody.com.
