Margaret Hageman Obituary
She was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Beardstown, the daughter of Theodore and Susannah Stainsby Smith. She married Robert A. Hageman and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1989.
She is survived by one son, John (Terry) Hageman of Quincy; six grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Freidinger of Arenzville, Phillip Hageman of Fort Worth, Texas, Melissa Turner, Jennifer Black and Travis Black, all of Quincy, and Andrea Black of Payson; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Francis "Tac" Smith of Joliet and J Logan Smith of Beardstown; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert T. Hageman; one sister, Mary Newman; and three brothers, John, Amos and Theodore Smith.
Mrs. Hageman was a 1939 graduate of Beardstown High School and a member of First United Methodist Church in Beardstown. She worked as a receiving clerk for Sears & Roebuck in Beardstown for more than 20 years. She enjoyed feeding birds, reading and spending time with all her grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Beardstown City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Heritage Health's Activity Fund or The Salvation Army. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
