Stephen Saylor Obituary
Stephen was born July 26, 1945, in Jacksonville, to Oliver and Dorothy (Angelo) Saylor. He married Yolanda C. Garry on July 1, 2011, in Lewistown. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Dorothy Ratcliff of Roodhouse; one daughter, Lisa (Doug) Feger of Marquette Heights; three sons, Stephen Greg (Wendy) Saylor of Havana, Scott (Pamela) Saylor of Norris and Shawn (Heidi) Saylor of Galesburg; one sister, Rena (Ronald) Belisle of Sun City, Ariz.; one brother Bobbie Lee (Becky) Saylor of Beardstown; 24 grandchildren; five stepchildren, Latasha (Scott), Keva, Kaylah, Krysta and Karlee; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Ronnie Dale Saylor; and one sister, Jean Moss.
Stephen worked at Caterpillar, retiring in 1996. He later worked as an over the road truck driver. He was a member of New Hope Church in Peoria and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville.
Funeral service will be at noon Thursday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary in Peoria. The Rev. Stephen Barch will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior at the mortuary. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Arenzville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Yolanda, So sorry to learn of Steve's death. He will certainly be missed at the Triopia '64 class reunions. He was so faithful in attendance. Steve's family lived across the street from us in Arenzville, so I had known him since we ere very young. I'm so sorry. Jamie Morrison Spikes

Lisa, Greg, Scott & Shawn, Sorry for the loss of your dad. I would have loved to see him again. I have not seen him for several years. I remember him at family gatherings that the Saylor's used to have every summer in Beardstown and then later at a cousin's house in Springfield. Steve is in a better place and at rest. Steve and I were classmates at Triopia High School and were close friends. I enjoyed visiting with him when he came back home for the burgoo,etc. My sincere sympathy to your family. He was a good guy. Berneta Surratt Berry
