Tara Hamlin Obituary
She was born May 24, 1975, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Ron and Virginia Wessel Curry. She married William Joseph "Joe" Hamlin on June 29, 2002, in Las Vegas.
Surviving is her husband, Joe Hamlin of Beardstown; her father, Ron (wife, Mary Jo) Curry of Shelbyville; four children, Madisyn Days and Sydnee, Gracyn and Ryder Hamlin, all of Beardstown; brother, Doug Curry of Casey, S.C.; sister, Missy (husband, Todd) Wink of Beardstown; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Tara graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1993 and she was currently attending Capitol Area School of Practical Nursing in Springfield. She was a sincere and dedicated member of First United Methodist Church in Beardstown where she was active in the church choir, attended a weekly Bible Study and taught Sunday school. Tara faithfully gave of her efforts each year as she participated on a team for the Relay for Life. She loved to sing and very generously offered her talent whenever she was asked. Tara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt,and friend and she will certainly be missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown. Burial will be at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials have been suggested to The Children of Tara Hamlin Fund. My thoughts and prayers are with Tara's family. I was heartbroken when I learned of the tragic accident that claimed her life. I so enjoyed getting to know Tara when she made her journey on Walk to Emmaus. Her smile lit up the room when she would walk in the conference room. She is now resting in the arms of Jesus and my prayer is that God puts his arms around her family and comforts then during this very difficult time. God Bless.

I attended Tara's funeral today. It was a beautiful and moving tribute to her. The church was packed, but it held only a fraction of the people that had their lives touch by Tara. She was such a wonderful person, and I will never forget her kindheart, sense of humor, and infectious laugh. I am deeply saddened for Tara's family, but I am also saddened for the people that did not get the chance to know her here on this earth. We have a very special angel waiting for us in heaven.

Although we were only neighbors for a short time; I was touched by her kindness, wit and thoughtfulness. It only took a minute with her to know she was someone you would like to know. Tara was my best friend growing up, and I have so many great memories of her, most of them from our crazy times in high school!! I will NEVER forget riding through the park in her '79 Gold Cadillac named "Itsa bg 1" on the license plate!! Some of my best times were laughing with Tara and finding almost anything funny!! She was always so resilient and always had a smile on her face. She lived her life passionately and just went for what she wanted. She was such an inspiration to so many with her kind words and unconditional love. Her life is such an example to me. After high school we went our separate ways and stayed in touch here and there, and oh how I wish we would have stayed in touch more often. I'm so glad we got to reconnect the past couple of years, because we had a chance to share with each other how our faith in Christ has grown and we communicated often about how good God is. I will cherish all my memories of Tara. My prayers go out to Joe, the kids, Missy, Doug and the rest of her family. I miss her already but know I will see her again:)

I just want to say that she had a wonderful Angelical voice we loved her especially at the 4th St Lutheran Church I would sit and listen to her, it's so hard for me to believe she is gone to our Lord. Tara was my grade school best friend. I remember the many sleepovers we had & the pink lemonade bubble gum we would always have to go buy for her mom Ginny! I have wonderful memories of Tara dating back to our days in high school together. She ALWAYS made us laugh with her sarcasm, bluntness, and antics!!!
