Terry Barton Obituary
Jacksonville - Terry Lee Barton, 69, of Jacksonville, IL, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
He was born August 22, 1955, in Jacksonville, the son of Elsworth and Rosie (Sparrow) Barton. He married his high school sweetheart, Lillie Mae Allan on Sept. 10, 1976, and they celebrated 48 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Jenifer (Joe) Young, all of Jacksonville; and two grandchildren, Terry James "TJ" and Savannah Rose, both of Jacksonville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; his special cousin, Mike Barton who was like a brother; and two goddaughters, Brigitte Knight and Angela Spray. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Larry Barton.
Terry worked for Jacksonville School District #117 for 35 years. He was an avid sports fan and loved all sports. He didn't know a stranger and could talk to anybody.
Cremation rites have been accorded and private family services will be held. Memorial gifts are suggested to Jacksonville School District #117. The Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent online at airsman-hires.com.

Papa Terry was so funny, kind, and always willing to help anyone that he could. He always has a smile on his face and enjoyed going on his trips with Lillie and enjoyed watching his ball games, Kentucky derby and etc. Going to miss you so much papa love you dearly!
