Yvonda Hardy Obituary

Yvonda Lynn (Palmer) Hardy of Decatur, and formerly of Champaign, departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
"Vonda Ray" was born Sunday, Nov. 10, 1957, in Champaign. She was the daughter of Johnnie Palmer Jackson and Harry Montell Palmer.
Vonda Ray leaves to mourn her husband, Douglas Hardy of Decatur; sons, Roland Davis of Champaign and Stephen Davis of Decatur; daughters, Erica Sibley, Jervon Powell and special daughter, Jennifer Farmer, all of Decatur; mother, Johnnie L. Jackson of Jacksonville; grandmother, Carrie Lewis of Jacksonville; brothers, Vincent (Demetrica) Andujo of Bakersfield, Calif., and Julio A. (Patricia Lynn) Andujo of Riverside, Calif.; sisters, Leslie (Walt) Smith, Angela Sue Jones and Joy Eve McFarland, all of Champaign, and Penny (Gary) Pace of Decatur; 13 grandchildren; an aunt; an uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Montell Palmer; grandparents, William Henry Palmer and Elnora Gandy Jackson; uncle, Waymon Jackson; granddaughter, Tanaja Renae Davis; and infant great-niece, Charnease Brown.
Services were held in Decatur on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at the Church of the Living God and also in Champaign on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at St. Luke CME Church.
