Andrea Woodworth Obituary

Andrea Jokisch Woodworth, 79, longtime resident of Rowayton, CT., passed away on March 23, 2025, in Winchester, NH.Andrea was born on January 7, 1946, in Springfield, IL to Newell "Bud" and Joanna Jokisch of Ashland, IL. She grew up on the family farm and as a member of 4-H, raised sheep and showed baby beef and hogs at the 4-H fairs. Andrea graduated from Ashland High School in 1964, and from Washington University in St. Louis in 1968, with a bachelor's degree in English and French. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, and had planned to become a teacher, but she also wanted to see the world. A friend convinced her to go to an interview with Pan American World Airways. She became a flight attendant in 1968, and began her proud career, with her favorite destinations being Bangkok, London, Paris, and Rome. Andrea was a member of a philanthropic organization, World Wings International. She retired from Pan Am after the arrival of their son Michael in 1991. Andrea was a steadfast member of the Rowayton United Methodist Church where she acted as Treasurer and Secretary. She was involved with coordinating coverage for the nursery and coffee hour each week, and with fundraising activities that included the Strawberry Festival and Harvest Fair. Andrea may best be remembered for her many years as the Town Clerk of Rowayton. Everyone in town went to see Andrea for their beach stickers and train parking permits. She loved flowers and gardening and was a member of the Rowayton Gardeners Club. In later years, she did substitute teaching for the Norwalk School system. Andrea also loved knitting, baking, and playing the piano. In 2022, Andrea and Woody moved to Keene, NH to be closer to their son Michael and his family, and they were thrilled to be grandparents to two beautiful granddaughters, Ellie and Emmie. Andrea was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Larry "Woody" Woodworth in October 2024, her parents Bud and Joanna, and brother Louis Jokisch, all of Ashland, IL, and her father and mother-in-law, Preston and Beryl Woodworth of Littleton, ME. Andrea is survived by her son Michael, and granddaughters Elliot Rose and Emmett Sharron Michele Woodworth of Keene, NH, sisters in law Tara Rae Jokisch of Ashland, IL, Debra Atwood (Randal) of Hampden, ME, Carolyn Jordan (Duncan) of Clifton, ME, her beloved cousin Roni Wallner, nieces and nephews Todd Jokisch, Teresa Armstrong (Michael), Renee Jokisch (Heather), Jennifer Cammack (Gary), James Jordan (Kimberly), Ashley Megquier (Aaron), and Joshua Atwood (Nicole), many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and beloved friends and neighbors from Rowayton, CT.
