Christine Louise Walton

Christine L. Walton, age 67, of Madison, Ohio, passed away on July 3, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born August 13, 1957, to the late Charles and Helen (Schwartz) Hasselbach.
Christine was a longtime member of the Western Reserve Yacht Club, where she found joy in the friendships, activities, and peaceful moments spent sitting by the river at the boat dock. She had a deep love of music - from Barry Manilow and Celine Dion to beautiful classical pieces - and found comfort and inspiration in every note. Creative and talented, she enjoyed crocheting, crafting, and expressing herself through her art.
Animals held a special place in Christine's heart, especially her devoted companion Lexi Ann, her beloved "Velcro" dog who was always by her side. Above all, Christine cherished time with her family, and nothing brought her greater happiness than being with her granddaughters.
She worked for many years as a Deputy Registrar with the Lake County General Health District until her health made it too difficult to continue. True to her generous spirit, Christine's final gift was the gift of life - she was an organ donor, always wanting to help others even in passing.
Christine is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Don, whom she married on June 20, 1987; her son Dan (Corrie) White; and her treasured granddaughters Anna and Charlee White. She is also survived by her sister Eileen (Hank, deceased) Sell, brother David (Robin) Hasselbach, and many dear in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Christine's life on Sunday, July 13, from 12:00–4:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life dinner afterward at the Western Reserve Yacht Club, 1325 High Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio 44077.
