Daniel Ellis

Daniel Ellis, 73, of Stoddard, NH passed away on March 27, 2025. He was born in Keene, NH on May 22, 1951, son of the late Earle and Irene (Rogers) Ellis. Dan was a true family man and loved each of them dearly. He never missed a family gathering and could be counted on to arrive with a jar of his homemade jam or moonshine. Everyone could rely on him to be there to lend a helping hand when needed. No appointments were necessary when visiting Dan. His door was always open, and he would usually be found tinkering in the barn or sitting in his favorite chair. He could often be heard engaging in lively conversations about politics, investments and the prospects of alien life, all with a laugh and a grin that will never be forgotten. He loved his pets, Zena, Jack Cat and most recently Jasper, who will miss the hand that doled out his treats. He loved spending time outdoors, riding his motorcycle, deer hunting and using his crossbow. He won trophies for several things including arm wrestling, darts, billiards, and softball. He was a jack of all trades and worked as an automation machine engineer, and in construction and carpentry at different times before his retirement. He was also a member of the West Swanzey Volunteer Fire Department in his younger years. Daniel is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathleen (Phelps) Ellis, his son Sean Ellis and his wife Maegan of Canaan, daughters, Kelly Pouliot of Spofford, and Rebecca Ellis of Keene. His sister Sandra Ellis and her wife Cathy Burt of Venice, FL, brother Jim Ellis of Keene, stepchildren Christine Fleming of Keene and Michael Fleming of Stoddard, as well as 14 Grandchildren, four great grandsons, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will take place on Thursday April 10th from 4:00PM-6:00PM at the Cheshire Family Funeral Home, 44 Maple Ave, Keene, NH.
