George Fish Obituary

George Francis Fish Jr., also known as "Grumpy George", 66, a resident of Troy, passed away peacefully and quietly on Monday, March 3, 2025, in the comfort of his home with the love of family by his side. He was born a son to Lillian May (Guptill) and the late George F. Fish Sr. on February 21, 1959, in Augsburg, Germany. George attended and graduated from Conant High School in Jaffrey. On June 16,1977, George exchanged vows with the love of his life, Ronda Lee Pelto. They had a simple service at The United Church of Jaffrey with family and friends celebrating them. George enjoyed working for the Town of Rindge for 15 years until he retired in 2024. Prior, he volunteered at the Troy Fire Department, Troy Ambulance, Rindge Fire Department, and Meadowood Fire Department. Although he is known as Grumpy George, he loved many things in life such as, spending time with his grandchildren, hanging out with his friends, fishing and hunting. Mr. Fish is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Ronda Fish of Troy, their children, Vanessa (James) Fish of Troy, Keith (Sherry) Fish of Jaffrey, his siblings, Rebecca Ryll (Dana), Steven, Debra (Dennis), Tina Schoales (Wayne), and Tim (Shari). George is also survived by his grandchildren, Natalie, Keith Jr., Marley, and Khyra. Along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In keeping with George's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Home, Chapel, and Crematories. www.cheshirefamilyfh.com.
