Eddie Arnold Jones
LUMBERTON — Eddie Arnold Jones, 72, of 4698 West Carthage Road, went to sleep in Christ on Nov. 23, 2016, at Southeastern Hospice House.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, William Jones and Ollie Clark; four brothers, Jessie Jones, Willie Lee Jones, Britton Jones and George Jones; one grandson, Jeremy Ray McGirt; one special friend of many years, Arthella O. McGirt and a brother in Christ Tommy Cummings. He was a faithful member of The Gospel of Jesus Church of Red Springs, N.C.
He is survived by his brother, William Jones of Lumberton; a son, James Ray McGirt of Lumberton; three daughters, Katie Mae Chavis, Carol Jane Sampson and Lisa Thomas of Lumberton; nine grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to a dearly beloved niece Melissa Jones and thanks to a special friend Bro. Robert Locklear.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gospel of Jesus Church, Pastor William Cuymmings officiating. Burial will follow in Oxendine Cemetery on Oak Grove Church Road.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
