Carla Sims Obituary

Carla Fields Sims Memorial services for Carla Fields Sims of Granbury, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church in Littlefield with the Rev. Bryant Sears officiating. Carla went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 10, 2010, in Fort Worth. Carla was born Jan. 24, 1961, in Amherst, Texas, to Waylon and Helen Fields. She grew up and attended school in Plainview. At the time of her death she resided in Granbury. She was a faithful member of Stonewater Church in Granbury. Carla is survived by her sons, Jason Martinez of Plainview and Juston Martinez of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Victoria "Tori," Isaiah and Gage; her mother and stepfather, Helen and Bobby Edwards of Sudan; a brother and sister-in-law, Micheal and Jeni Fields of Lubbock; a stepbrother and his wife, Pete and Mechele Edwards of Sudan; two stepsisters and their husbands, Linda and Richard Jackson of Tow, Texas, and Debra and Eugene Lopez of Sudan; and a host of nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father Jimmy Waylon Fields. Carla had many friends and touched many lives as she loved helping others through her church, her neighbors and friends. We will miss Carla, the "Nana," mom, daughter, sister and friend, but we know that she is in Heaven with Jesus whom she loved very much. The family suggests memorials be made to Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, 801 N. Sunset, Littlefield, Texas. To view a celebration of Carla's life video, go to http://www.mgcvideos.com/sims.html

Helen, my heart-felt condolences to you, Mike and the rest of your family...Carla was a good friend and caring neighbor growing up. She had a good role model (you) and how can we forget your famous bisquits, sausage n gravy you would bring to work @ Zales and share with everyone... Thank you for showing us neighbors kids and teaching your children to live by the Golden Rule "Do unto others..." and always remember to say your prayers" Carla did that, she was fun, very loving and all around good person. Thinking of you and keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers....Love, Rosie Flores Rios , Fort Worth, Tx
