Dear Gerry and Family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Dale. I was one of his many students and he has always served as an inspiration for my life. I'm sure that many of his former students feel the same. He was the man who started me on what would end up being a long career in the computer industry. I have never forgotten his kindness towards a curious boy and his support in learning as much as possible about subjects that you are passionate about. He was always a hero in my eyes and will be dearly missed.
