Dariel Stephens

Dariel Stephens Sr., was born sunrise on January 7, 1951, in Lagrange, Georgia. After moving to Alaska as a child Dariel made Anchorage his home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 2 p.m.; visitation beginning at 1 p.m. at Alaska Cook Inlet Funeral Home; 7216 Lake Otis Parkway. You are invited to join the family at a fellowship luncheon following the service at the American Legion, Post 34; 916 Ingra St.

Dariel attended Lathrop High School, after graduation he attended Alaska Community College and then continued in to obtain his welding technician certificate from Alaska Welding. His loving spirit and giving heart will be so dearly missed in this world. He was the type of man to go out of his way to help his friends and family. Dariel was a strong man who loved his children and would do anything to ensure their well-being and happiness. His smile and laughter was contagious, on any given day his presence would lighten the room. Dariel will be sorely missed by those who loved him.

Dariel was survived by his mother, Mary; ex-wife, Sara Gilley; children, Ebony Smith, Dariel Stephens Jr., Sadie and Tisha; brothers, Robert and Alvin Stephen; sister, Gwendolyn Leggett; grandchildren, Ishia Rawls, Kiera Smith, Eboni Smith, Elijah Smith and Dariel Stephens III; as well as several members of his extended family in Alaska and Georgia.
