I'm so sorry to hear about Darin. I went to school with him. All through school we had drama class together. He loved acting. The last screen play he did was The Odd Couple in Plainview at Wayland Baptist. I pray that the Lord puts his arms around Kevin and Darins parents and his wife, and puts comfort and healing for the grieving that the family and friends will be going through. I'm still grieving on the loss of my mother in March of this year. Dont lose faith, the Lord only makes you stronger in these hard times that you will be going through. Darin was a very sweet and wonderful man, and his memory will live with me until I go home.We are just passing through this earth on our way home.God Bless you & Prayers will always be there to comfort you.

Mr. and Mrs. Cook,

My heart broke when I read about Darin on Facebook yesterday. I had sent him a text earlier in the day wishing him a Merry Christmas, but something told me to check his page when I didn't hear back from him.

I met my dear friend when I was in junior high at a church camp in South Dakota. We became friends instantly and have stayed in touch throughout our lives! I will miss his kind spirit, sense of humor, and special friendship. My heart aches now, but I know, without a doubt, that I will see you again in Heaven!

A teenager stopping by our house at unpredictable times, always welcome because of his good humor--like everybody else in one of the finest families we've ever met. Thank you, Lord, for these memories!

To the Cook family, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Darin was a rare soul - funny, smart, caring, and loved by so many. When I lost my dad at Christmas time 4 years ago, he was the first friend to call me. His support during those awful days was invaluable and just so Darin. We spoke daily, usually several times, and I knew if I needed to talk, the time on the clock wasn't important. He could always make me laugh, even through my tears. He truly was one of a kind & the world is a little less funny without him, but Heaven surely gained an angel.

My prayer for his family is that you all receive the love and support during this difficult time that this precious man provided me. I pray God's healing and peace for all of you.

Darin Cook, one of life's truest rarity, quick with a kind word, and smile or joke never to far behind. I had the privilege of being his daughter in law and flowerchild, something he
always called me. Darin will always be treasured in my heart and soul, until we met again Mr. Cook.

Darin was a very sweet person.I really am not sure if we met in 7 or 6 grade. My maiden name is Calk & his last name Cook. Well we always had to sit & stand by each other cause we went alphabetical order. We both were short. Soo we both took up for each other...I remember best bow his chest out & usually stepped in front of me, to protect me. He'd always ask questions you had to think hard about..he had a sweet heart. I'm thankful we met. I know there is a celebration going on in Heaven! Him singing, producing plays & don't forget the Chicago bears! RIP my Ducky! Love & miss you! Quack quack! May God give your family & friends peace & comfort. We do have many memories!!!! &;)

Darin was in my Sunday School class at College Heights when he was a teenager. He sat at the back with a constant twinkle in his eyes. He never said a word disrespectfully but he was ALWAYS thinking mischievous thoughts. I always know he could say funny things and when he would come to the house he would break me up with his puns and wisecracks. I miss that deadpan look he used to use before the deliverance of a funny. He cheered me up when I needed it most and I considered him a friend. I miss him. My prayers are with the family. God received a new member in the heavenly chorus this week.

I will always remember the Darin I met at Highland Elementary in the first grade. He was cute and shy back then. We crossed paths again as adults about ten yrs ago at KKYN.
Darin, you are an awesome friend, I will always remember the good times and the bad times. Im glad we were able to get together for lunch those few times. They were a blessing to me. I miss you... You fought the battle with all you had, God needed another angel...so he chose you.
My prayers go out to the entire Cook family...God Bless You All.
