J.C. Fowler Obituary

J.C. Fowler SILVERTON -- J.C. Fowler, age 89, of Silverton, Texas passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Silverton Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home. J.C. was born to Clay and Cass Fowler on Nov. 15, 1926, in Gasoline, Texas. J.C. married Thada Lackey in Silverton, Texas, on March 3, 1959. He was a stock farmer, windmill man and a help to other area ranchers during cattle gatherings. He was a good horseman and knew cattle well. J.C. was a WWII veteran and served in the U.S. Army – volunteering for bomb disposal and earning himself a Freedom Medal. He was a member of First Baptist Church Silverton. J.C. was proceeded in death by his loving wife Thada; his son, Clayton Jay Fowler; his parents; and a sister Anis. J.C. is survived by his daughter-in-law Allyson Fowler of Shallowater; four grandchildren, Josh and Amanda Griffith of Dallas, Johnny Fowler of Lubbock, and Katie Fowler of Shallowater; one sister, Clay Rackley; four nieces, Pat, Kay, Judy and Jan; two nephews, Don and Larry, all of whom he loved dearly. He lived his entire life in Briscoe County. Online condolences may be made at www.moore-rose.com.
