Jerry Settle Obituary
Jerry was born on December 14, 1945, in Lubbock, Texas, to W.T. and Maxine Settle. He married the love of his life, Sharon, on August 6, 1965, and together they built a life full of love and laughter. In 1969, Jerry and Sharon moved to Edmonson, where he dedicated over 51 years of his life to farming, nurturing not only the land but also his family and community. Jerry was a man of faith, serving as a deacon and elder at the Garland Street Church of Christ and sharing his knowledge and passion for education as the Education Director. His commitment to service extended beyond the church; he spent 11 years on the Board of the Edmonson Coop Gin and 14 years with the Plains Coop Executive Board. For 30 years, he was actively involved with the Edmonson Lions Club, embodying the spirit of community and generosity.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Jeff Settle and wife Jennifer of Edmonson, TX, Jody Settle of Lubbock, TX; daughter, Angie Bennett and husband Cody of Edmonson, TX; sister, Reta and husband Clay Mimms of NM; seven grandchildren, Andrew Bennett of Frisco, TX Laurel Blasingame and husband Will of Canyon TX, Riley Bennett, King Fisher of OK, Tanner Bennett and wife Taler of Edmonson, TX, Ashley Scharadin and husband Quintin of Harrisburg, PA and Danica Settle of Tulsa, OK.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Settle; and his parents, W.T and Maxine Settle.
