Marily Parker Obituary

Marilyn Elaine Parker

April 11, 1949 - November 9, 2025

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

2 Timothy 4:7

Marilyn Parker went home to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the age of 76. A Celebration of Life Service under the direction of Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Dalhart on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11 am, with Nolan Silvey, her nephew, officiating. A Private Graveside will be held. Visitation Wednesday, Nov 12, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dalhart Funeral Home.

Marilyn was born on April 11, 1949, to John and Edna Wieck in Canyon, Texas. She was the third child of eight children born to the Wieck family. Marilyn grew up with a close-knit family and a strong work ethic that followed her throughout her life.

Marilyn graduated from Canyon High School in 1967 and then attended cosmetology school in Amarillo. She worked as a cosmetologist in Canyon for a year before moving to Romero, TX, in 1968. Later, she moved to Dalhart in 1972, where she continued working as a cosmetologist until she joined United Supermarkets, where she worked for 18 years before retiring, forming lifelong friendships along the way.

On July 15, 1995, Marilyn married the love of her life, Phillip "Red" Parker. Together, they built a beautiful life, farming side by side for over 30 years. One of Marilyn's greatest joys was flying and traveling all over the country with Red as her personal pilot, sharing adventures and making memories that lasted a lifetime.

Marilyn and her twin sister, Carolyn, shared a bond that was truly one of a kind. From the moment they entered the world together, they were inseparable, two halves of one heart. They celebrated life's milestones side by side, shared countless laughs, and supported each other through every joy and challenge throughout life. Their connection ran deeper than words, a quiet understanding and love that only twins can know. Even when miles apart, their hearts were always together, plus the countless daily FaceTimes while getting ready for their afternoon coffee.

Marilyn will be remembered as MarMar with a kind heart, her unwavering love for her family, and her gentle spirit. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, humor, and compassion.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Phillip "Red" Parker; her beloved children: Chad Hicks (wife Holly) of Dalhart, and Bridgett Nicholson (husband Dennis) of Dalhart; her grandson, Connor Nicholson of Dalhart; her granddaughters, Haliey Nicholson and Elle Hicks, both of Dalhart, and Hannah Holmes of Lubbock. She is also loved by her stepchildren: Travis Parker (partner Cesar Miranda) of Dallas; Monica Stuchlik (husband AJ) of Bluffton, South Carolina; Brandon Parker of Abilene; Greg Parker (wife Heidi) of Dallas; Kim Parker of Baltimore, Maryland; and Ryan Parker-Elliot (husband Michael) of Austin. Step-grandchildren include Grason and Garren Randall; Jonthan and Arial Parker; Holt, Hudson, and Mac Parker; Paige and Lauren Wells; and Harlan Parker-Elliot. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

She is survived by her brothers Larry Wieck of Canyon, Mike Wieck of Canyon, Stan Wieck of Umbarger, and Chris Wieck of Amarillo; and her sisters Linda Hesse of Brownfield, her twin sister Carolyn Kirkland of Lubbock, and Donna Brorman of Dalhart.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Wieck, and her granddaughter, Tayelor Ann Nicholson.

Her family and friends will forever remember her laughter, strength, and the love she poured into every moment of her life.

Marilyn loved God, her family, and friends deeply. Now she has heard, "Welcome home, thy good and faithful servant!" MarMar would also say, "God is Good Now and Forever".

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Twilight Cancer Fund, Box 471, Dalhart, TX 79022, in Marilyn's memory.
