Merce Martinez Obituary
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mariano Martinez Jr.; brothers, Ausencio Benavidez Sr. (Olivia), Paul Benavidez (Ophelia dec.), Felipe Benavidez (Felicita); and sisters, Felicidad Hood, Longina Benavidez and Dominga Benavidez.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Martinez (Jose Rodriguez) of Salina and son, Marcos B Martinez of Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren, Jacob Mariano Martinez and Lilyana Merced Rodriguez; brother, Javier Benavidez (Herminia) of Kyle, Texas; and sisters, Margarita "Margie" (Lino) Garcia of Floydada, Texas, and Consuelo "Connie" (Joe) Castaneda of Midland, Texas. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Juanita (Mario) Martinez of Assaria, Kan., Bea Robles of Delphos, Kan., and her brother-in-law Pedro Martinez of Emporia, Kan., who have been in her life in Salina, Kan., and have treated her as their own sister. Merce was part of a large extended family that included many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that she held close to heart and loved dearly.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 22, 2016, from 2-7 p.m. at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford Salina, Kan., with family receiving from 5-7. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 S. Ohio, Salina, Kan., with burial following at Roselawn Memorial Park.
