William Whittenberg Obituary

William Whittenberg HALE CENTER -- Memorial celebration for the life of William Thomas "Tommy" Whittenberg, 57, of Hale Center, Texas, will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, in the Western Heritage Fellowship, Hale Center, with Rev. Robert Malcom officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, Texas. Mr. Whittenberg died Saturday, May 2, 2015, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born June 18, 1957, in Deming, New Mexico, to William Franklin and Aurelia Dawn (Teal) Whittenberg. He married Patricia Antonia Benson on Sept. 1, 2007, at Morphy Lake, New Mexico. She preceded him in death Aug. 20, 2009. He moved to Hale Center in 2006 from Plainview, Texas, and was a member of the Western Heritage Fellowship. He was a contractor for Atmos Energy for 25 years and sub-contracted for Saunders Construction in Lubbock as well. He loved to hunt and fish, had an amazing sense of humor and was 100% "Grandpa" to his two granddaughters, Ryanna and Kylee. He is survived by two daughters, Nicole Franklin and husband Richard and Danielle Whittenberg, all of Hale Center, Texas; two granddaughters, Ryanna Franklin and Kylee Whittenberg; a brother, Greg Whittenberg of Oregon; and a sister, Carloyn Whittenberg Johnson of Tyler, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

I knew Tommy when he was employed at Wal-Mart D.C. 6012 and we shared many a fishing story during our chats. Tommy was a great guy , he will be missed ! My condolences to his family during this difficult time. May the Lord Bless you during your time of sorrow.
